Lately I have been on a creative hiatus. Why have I taken a break from art you might ask? Well, I moved this past fall, got more involved with work, and got a new puppy!
I will also admit that my creative juices were in fact absent. I often tried to bring my creativity to the surface, but it just wasn’t there. Months went by without a single sketch… I began to worry. Luckily, 2012 brought my inspiration back, or so I’d like to think.
I decided I wanted to experiment with my style. Though I am happy with my current style, I love to try new techniques. I think my inspiration came from my puppy, Lucy. I adopted her from the Wisconsin Humane Society in November. I find Lucy to be such a colorful character. Maybe that inspired me to use color in a different way than I did before. So as of January I’ve been working on a series of dog portraits. I am also using a wide range of colors in my work. So far I have two portraits completed and I am currently working on more, some are upon request.
As my puppy grows, so will my use of color. My next contribution to the Milwaukee art scene is COLOR. Winter weather needs color and I am going to provide some!

Glad you’re back blogging!
True, winter NEEDS color! Its interesting the sources of inspiration we find. Me…ideas usually hit me while I’m running or sleeping.
Anyhow, Happy New Year…Keep up the great work and hope it also remains fun!
I love new style direction of your recent work. Keep it up!
