Nico likes to start his work without any preconceived idea of what the finished image is going to look like. He has ups and downs in the process of making each of  his paintings, going from disatisfaction to excitement…  “I just put the brush/knife down when I’m satisfied with the balance and rending, and thinking that hopefully I have created a relaxing escape for the viewer. I paint with lots of vibrant colors and texture bringing the vibrancy of the new with the character of old weathered things.”
